Marci's Quilt

I just remembered that I never posted pictures of my finished quilt, so I took a few quick ones before I dropped it off to Kris this afternoon.

And just in case I get tired of the front, I can always turn it over (or if my hubby makes the bed with the quilt upside down!).

I used the same fabric on the back as I did for the sashing, so it'll be very pretty!

I picked one of Kris' new quilt patterns for this one -- it looked very civil war-ish to me, so I think it's going to look very good on the quilt!  It's one she hasn't done yet, so we'll see . . .

Now I just have to wait for my aqua fabric to arrive from Paducah . . . it sat in Perrysburg all last night and today (according to fedex tracking), and then arrived in Bellville today . . . hopefully that means it'll be on my porch sometime tomorrow!

So Tina, what colors are you doing the "Just Takes Two" quilt in???

FOR THE ENDS OF THE PILLOW CASES

THEY LOOK REALLY NEAT, NOW TO SEE IF I CAN MAKE THE BLOCKS.

OK I JUST DOWNLOADED THE FIRST PATTERNS FOR THE QUILT.  I HAVEN'T DECIDED ON A COLOR YET.  SOON AS I GET THE FABRIC I WILL DOWNLOAD A PICTURE.
MIGHT NEED SOME HELP WITH THE APPLIQUE.

I checked this out and have decided to join in, have chosen white and red, kona solids which I have purchased. Looks like it is going to be a fun quilt to make, I will be try my hand at posting the blocks as I get them done, that should be fun in itself.

Mystery Quilt for 2012

See that button on the sidebar, girls??  [Just Takes 2]  Well, if you click on it, you'll go to a website that tells you about a mystery quilt block-of-the-month that is being put on by two quilting blogs, Sentimental Stiches (which happens to be in Grand Rapids) and Dear Jane.  I've added both of their blogs to our reading list, too.

You buy your own fabric - just 2 colors - and then every month you get 2 patterns for a section of the mystery quilt - one from each blog.  Since I'm finishing up my quilt like Mom's this weekend (got the rows done, now I just need to put them together), and Paducah just sent out that 15% off coupon, I decided it was the perfect time to start something new. 

So . . . I'm going with brown and aqua (found some clearance fabrics on Paducah's website, and just ordered it) . . . anybody want to join me???
